Baptism

Ages infant through 6 years:  Baptism registration forms,  including forms for the godparents, are obtained from the parish office. After the paperwork has been completed and returned, the parents attend one preparation session. Godparents are encouraged to attend this session with the parents if they are able.

The session highlights the meaning of the sacrament in the life of the family as well as the parish.

For children aged 3 and older, a session to show the child what will be happening at the baptism and to see where it will be happening must also be completed.

Contact the parish office at 414-761-0480 to schedule a baptism, and required forms will be mailed to you.

Here is a video to watch before attending our parent baptism preparation session:

Child or youth aged 7+ years: The Catholic Church deems age 7 to be the ‘age of reason,’ thus children this age and older go through a year long process called, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children.  The process is similar to the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, however the parents participate in the process with their child. See OCIA under Faith Formation tab

This process culminates at the Easter Vigil celebration in spring, when the child receives all three sacraments of initiation of our faith:  Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation.
